Discover Torres del Paine National Park on your own
Day 1:
Pta. Arenas - Torres del Paine (377km)

Arrive in Punta Arenas and receive your vehilce directly at the airport. This first day on the road takes you directly to the famous Torres del Paine National Park. On your way, the view of the legendary Ultima Esperanza Sound and impressive mountain ranges, among others scenic attractions, let you wonder about the beauty of this land - here, at the end of the world. Welcome to Patagonia!! Accommodation in Torres del Paine.

Day 2: Torres del Paine National Park
Explore on your own this spectacular national park, declared World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1978. Today we suggest you a full day hiking tour to the famous Torres del Paine lookout. This 8 - 9 hour round trip takes you through Patagonian scrub land, lenga forests and up a glacial moraine to the three towering granite pillars that gave the park its name. An alternative option includes a road trip to Laguna Azul from where you will also enjoy great vistas of the Torres. On the way, visit the Cascada Paine waterfall. Accommodation within the park. [B]

Day 3: Torres del Paine National Park (81km + 4km Salto Grande)
Today, drive through the national park south of the spectacular Paine massif, visit Salto Grande, a turquois waterfall, and admire the unique flora and fauna Patagonia. Later, continue to Lago Grey. After a short walk on its windy beach you can see mansion-size icebergs and in the background lays Grey Glacier. We recommend you to take a boat trip through icebergs to the front of the enormous Grey Glacier which descents from the Southern Patagonian Ice Field far above. Accommodation in Torres del Paine. [B]

Day 4: Torres del Paine - Puerto Natales (157km + 16km Milodon Cave)
On your way back, don't miss visiting the Milodon Cave, where in 1896 the remains of a prehistoric giant ground sloth were found, it definitely should be part of your trip. One can almost imagine how the sloth and a saber-toothed tiger which lived in that area fought about survival in their time. Accommodation in Puerto Natales. [B]

Day 5: Puerto Natales - Punta Arenas (230km + 64km Otway Sound)
Unfortunately, this is the last day in Patagonia. On your way back to Punta Arenas and depending on the departure time of your flight, a visit to the penguin colony at Otway Sound can be added to your travel plans, where during the Patagonian summer months thousands of Magellanic penguins (Spheniscus magellanicus) hatch and bring up their offspring. Return your vehicle at the airport. [B]
