Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Puerto Natales - Serrano River - Tyndall River Camp
Early morning, begin this Patagonia Kayak Adventure with a private transfer from Puerto Natales to Torres del Paine National Park and Serrano River (about 1.5 hours). Load your kayaks with your local kayak guide and begin paddling down Río Serrano. After about 2 hours, reach Serrano waterfall. Here you will carry the kayaks about 200 meters around the waterfall. Trying to master the waterfall by kayak would probably not be a good idea... ;-) Continue kayaking the Serrano River until the mouth of Tyndall River that here quietly flows into Río Serrano. From here, kayak about 4 kilometers/ 2.5 miles upstream. The water is slow flowing and the light current is not a problem. By the end of the day, find a campsite right on the banks of Tyndall River from where you have incredible views of the Geike Mountain Range and Tyndall Glacier, which are part of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field. Camp that night at the Tyndall River Campsite.

Day 2: Tyndall River - Tyndall Lake - Tyndall Glacier, Southern Patagonian Ice Field
In the morning, continue paddling up Tyndall River to reach Tyndall Lake and cross it (about 4 km/ 2.5 miles). Silently approach Tyndall Glacier and the Southern Patagonian Ice Field. Alternatively, get out of the kayaks in a desolate bay and enjoy great vistas of the glacier from another perspective. In the afternoon, kayak down Tyndall River and follow Serrano River to the Pekín Guerrero Ranch. Pekín Guerrero is a Patagonian pioneer, who settled in this remote wilderness some 30 years ago and has been living here ever since in almost complete isolation with his wife, Matilda. Spend the night camping at Pekín Guerrero's ranch.

Day 3: Serrano River - Serrano Glacier - Última Esperanza Sound - Puerto Natales
After breaking down camp and packing all equipment into the kayaks, continue kayaking Serrano River downstream. Surrounded by beautiful Lenga and Cypress forests and snow-capped mountains, reach the confluence of Río Serrano, where the river flows into Última Esperanza Sound. In 1558,
this Chilean fjord was the "last hope" for Juan Ladrillero's expedition
to find the entrance of the Strait of Magellan ("última esperanza" means
"last hope"). Here, the heavily glaciated Monte Balmaceda stands 2,035 m/ 6,677 ft
tall above the fjord and sends down the glaciers Balmaceda and Serrano. Join your guide for an easy walk of about 20 minutes one way, along a glacial lake to the front of Serrano Glacier. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat trip through the scenic Patagonian landscape and sail back to Puerto Natales in a bigger boat, where you will arrive at about 5:30 p.m.
